Die Einführung der HP PCI-E-Fibre-Channel-Hostbusadapter mit acht Gbit setzt neue Maßstäbe in puncto Leistung und Effizienz der Infrastrukturkomponenten in Rechenzentren, und dies führt zu einer doppelt so hohen E/A-Leistung von FC-HBAs mit vier Gbit. Ein heute erworbener 8-Gbit-Fibre-Channel-HBA ist abwärtskompatibel mit 4-Gbit- und 2-Gbit-Speichernetzwerken und schützt zukünftige Investitionen. Bei speicherintensiven Anwendungen, wie Sicherung/Wiederherstellung, Datenbanktransaktionen, Virtualisierung und Rich Media, ermöglichen die besseren Leistungsmerkmale der 8-Gbit-Infrastruktur ein schnelleres Speichern und Abrufen kritischer Daten. Abschließend bieten PCI-E-FC-Hostbusadapter mit acht Gbit verschiedene Funktionen, die in Kombination den Energieverbrauch reduzieren, sodass der Server umweltschonender arbeitet.
