Economic WLAN Access Point\nDer bintec W1001n ist ein managebarer Access Point mit einem Funkmodul und hervorragend geeignet für Anwendungen, die nur ein Frequenzband benötigen. Der bintec W1001n bietet identische Software-Leistungsmerkmale wie die anderen Geräte der bintec W-Serie\n\nDer bintec W1001n kann als Access Point in drei verschiedenen Modi betrieben werden. Er kann eigenständig als Access Point arbeiten oder durch einen zentralen bintec WLAN Controller gemanaged werden. Darüber hinaus kann der W1001n selbst als WLAN Controller agieren (Master Access Point) und bis zu 6 APs managen. Die bintec WLAN Controller Lösung ist einsetzbar für WLAN-Netze mit 2 bis 150 Access Points. Das durchgängige, skalierbare Konzept der bintec WLAN Controller Lösung ermöglicht die problemlose Erweiterung des Netzes ohne Technologiewechsel. Für den Kunden bedeutet dies eine hohe Investitionssicherheit.\nDas schlichte und gleichzeitig elegante Gehäuse eignet sich besonders gut für die Wand- oder Deckenmontage und ist prädestiniert für die unauffällige Installation in Büroumgebungen oder Hotels. Der diskrete Betrieb des Access Points in derartigen Umgebungen wird durch die abschaltbaren LEDs und die integrierten internen Antennen im Gehäuse positiv unterstützt. \n\nDie im Gehäuse integrierte Wandmontagemöglichkeit erspart eine zusätzliche Wandhalterung. Als Zubehör erhältlich ist eine Deckenhalterung, um das Gerät an der Decke zu montieren. Mit Hilfe dieser Deckenhalterung kann das Gerät - mittels eines Kensington-Schlosses - gegen Diebstahl gezusichert werden. Alternativ zur Wand- oder Deckenmontage kann der W1001n dank der mitgelieferten Gummifüße als Tischgerät betrieben werden.\n\nBeim Betrieb als Stand-alone Access Point bzw. zusammen mit einem WLAN Controller kann optional die bintec HotSpot Lösung integriert werden, um so ein geregeltes Netz für Gäste bereitzustellen, ideal für das Hotelier- und Gastgewerbe. \nZusammen mit dem bintec WLAN Controller und bei korrekter Funkausleuchtung ist ein nahtloser Betrieb von WLAN-Endgeräten möglich, da der W1001n das Handover beziehungsweise Roaming unterstützt. Dies ist besonders wichtig bei dem Aufbau von VoWLAN (Voice over WLAN)-Lösungen oder beim Betrieb von drahtlosen Barcodescanner im Logistikbereich. \n\nGreen-IT gleich eingebaut - der W1001n spart automatisch Energie. Wenn kein Client verbunden ist, schaltet das Gerät automatisch nicht benötigte Schaltungsteile ab und schaltet auf Mimo 1x1 zurück. Die Gigabit Ethernet Ports unterstützen den Energy-efficient Standard 802.3az für Ethernet Switches und tragen dazu bei, dass nur so viel Energie verbraucht wird wie nötig.\n\nErgänzend zu den Access Point Betriebsarten kann das Gerät als WLAN Client zum direkten Anschluss von Ethernetgeräten (z.B. Drucker) verwendet werden, um so Ethernetgeräte mit einem vorhandenen, drahtlosen Netz zu verbinden. Darüber hinaus gibt es die Möglichkeit, das Gerät als Funkbrücke im Punkt-zu-Multipunktbetrieb mit bis zu acht Links einzusetzen. Dadurch, dass mit einem Funkmodul gleichzeitig der Access Point Betrieb und der Betrieb eines Bridgelink-Masters möglich ist, lassen sich Wireless Backbones besonders effizient realisieren. In diesen beiden Betriebsarten ist die Nutzung eines WLAN-Controllers nicht möglich.
