Die HP 6600 Switch-Serie umfasst erweiterte Server Edge Switches für Rechenzentren. Die 6600 Switch-Serie umfasst 10/100/1000BASE-T- und 10GbE-SFP+ Switches für die Rack-Montage, die 1U belegen und mit einer (umkehrbaren) Kühlung von der Vorderseite zur Rückseite, einem Hot-Swap-fähigen redundanten Netzteil und redundanten Hot-Swap-fähigen Lüftern speziell für Server Edge-Anschlüsse ausgelegt sind. Die Grundlage dieser Switch-Serie bildet ein speziell konzipierter, programmierbarer ProVision ASIC, mit dem selbst anspruchsvollste Netzwerkfunktionen wie Quality of Service (QoS) und Sicherheit in erweiterbarer und dennoch kompakter Form implementiert werden. Dank einer Vielzahl von Anschlussschnittstellen und erweiterter Pufferung überzeugt die HP 6600 Switch-Serie durch ein Höchstmaß an Investitionsschutz, Flexibilität und Skalierbarkeit sowie durch einfache Implementierung und niedrigere Betriebskosten.
