Das HP D6000 Plattengehäuse mit 6 Gbit/s und unkomplizierter SAS-Architektur ist ideal als Direct Attach Storage für HP BladeSystem-Server geeignet. Sie erhalten die Einfachheit und den Kostenvorteil von DAS, ohne an Flexibilität oder Leistung einzubüßen. Die 6 Gbit/s SAS BL Switches unterstützen bis zu sechs D6000 Plattengehäuse für bis zu 1260 TB Speicher im Rack. Gruppen von Laufwerken werden direkt einzelnen Blade-Servern zugeordnet, die diesen als lokaler Speicher angezeigt werden. Dadurch können mehrere Server in einem Gehäuse eine eigene Festplatte haben, anstatt dass ein Server auf jeweils nur ein JBOD beschränkt ist. Mit dem D6000 Plattengehäuse zugeordneten Direct Attach-Funktionen, Serveradministratoren können lokalen Speicher bei laufendem Betrieb gemäß ihren Konfigurationsanforderungen erstellen.
