Dieses einfach zu installierende Mini-GBIC-Modul (SFP-Modul) stellt eine einfache Möglichkeit zum Hinzufügen von Gigabit-Funktionalität zu Linksys Switches dar. Gigabit-Faserkabel werden häufig verwendet, um zwei Switches zu verbinden. Die verwendete Technologie ist von dem Abstand zwischen den Switches abhängig. Das LH-Modul verwendet Licht mit 1310 Nanometer Wellenlänge in Multimode- oder Single-Mode-Glasfaserkabeln. Es können Entfernungen zwischen 500 m und 40 km (abhängig von den verwendeten Fasern) überbrückt werden.
