Er zeichnet sich durch einfache Installation und Konfiguration sowie ein handliches Format aus.\n\nBeispiel-Szenario\n\nZum Anschluß im LAN verfügt der Print Server DP-301P+ über einen 10/100 Mbit RJ-45 NWay Port, der einen flexiblen Einsatz in Ethernet- und Fast Ethernet-Netzwerken gewährleistet. Die Geschwindigkeit der Datenübertragung wird dabei automatisch er kannt, so daß keine Konfiguration durch den Anwender nötig ist.\n\nÜber einen parallelen High-Speed Printer Port kann jeder Drucker mit paralleler Schnittstelle seine Kapazitäten allen Usern im Netz zur Verfügung stellen. Dieser Printer Port unterstützt zusätzlich das Protokoll HP PJL und ermöglicht die bidirektionale Kommunikation zwischen Print Server und Printer. Der Print Server kann also auch während eines Druckvorgangs gleichzeitig Informationen über den Status des Printers abrufen.\n\nDer DP-301P+ unterstützt die Netzwerkprotokolle IP, NetBEUI und Apple EtherTalk im Ethernet und Fast Ethernet. Er eignet sich daher hervorragend zum Einsatz in gemischten Netzwerken.\n\nDurch sein handtellergroßes Format kann er an jeder Stelle im Netz oder auch problemlos als portables Gerät eingesetzt werden.
