Das HP 1 Gbit Ethernet Pass-Thru-Modul für BladeSystem c-Class wurde für Kunden konzipiert, die eine nicht verwaltete, direkte Verbindung zwischen allen Server-Blades innerhalb des Gehäuses sowie ein externes Netzwerkgerät wie einen Switch, Router oder Hub benötigen. Das HP 1 Gbit Ethernet Pass-Thru-Modul ist die ideale Lösung für Rechenzentren mit vorhandener Netzwerkinfrastruktur, da es sechzehn interne 1-Gbit-Downlinks und sechzehn externe 1-Gbit-Uplinks (RJ-45) aus Kupfer sowie einen festgeschalteten, nicht blockierenden 1:1-Pfad zwischen Server und Netzwerk bereitstellt. Das Ethernet Pass-Thru-Modul wurde so konzipiert, dass es in einen einzelnen E/A-Einschub des c-Class-Gehäuses passt, und sollte immer paarweise installiert werden, um redundante Uplink-Pfade zum Netzwerk bereitzustellen.
