HP Common Slot-Netzteile (CS) zeichnen sich durch ein einheitliches elektrisches und physisches Design aus, das die werkzeuglose Installation bei laufendem Betrieb in HP Server- und Speicherlösungen ermöglicht. CS-Netzteile sind in mehreren Eingangs- und Ausgangsoptionen mit hohem Wirkungsgrad verfügbar, sodass Benutzer das optimal dimensionierte Netzteil für bestimmte Server-/Speicherkonfigurationen und Umgebungen auswählen können. Diese Flexibilität trägt dazu bei, Leistungsverluste zu minimieren, die Gesamtenergiekosten zu senken und zu verhindern, dass im Rechenzentrum Kapazitäten gebunden werden. Als wichtiger Bestandteil der HP Thermal Discovery Services bieten die CS-Netzteile den höchsten Wirkungsgrad in der IT-Branche (bis zu 96 %). Kunden wird es damit ermöglicht, den Energiebedarf pro Server um bis zu 60 W und den Energiebedarf im Rechenzentrum um bis zu 10 % zu senken (im Vergleich zur Stromverbrauchsschätzung von ProLiant G6). CS Platinum Plus- und Titanium-Netzteile werden auch zur Aktivierung der HP Power Discovery Services benötigt, die darauf ausgerichtet sind, die Rechendichte zu erhöhen und Ausfälle des Rechenzentrums zu reduzieren.
