Analoge KVM-Konsolen-Switches von HP verwenden ein lokale OSD-Schnittstelle (On-Screen Display), die über eine Rack-Konsole, wie z. B. die HP LCD8500, zugänglich ist und intuitive Menüs für den Zugriff auf alle angeschlossenen Server bzw. verwalteten seriellen Geräte bietet. Analoge G3 KVM-Konsolen-Switches von HP unterstützen einen optionalen USB-Remote-Zugriffsschlüssel, der Ihnen ein Upgrade auf KVM-over-IP ermöglicht und Remote-Zugriff und -Verwaltung über die On-Board Web Interface (OBWI) bietet. Analoge KVM-Konsolen-Switches von HP sind mit 4, 8 oder 16 Anschlüssen verfügbar. Beim standardmäßigen Rack-Einbau des KVM-Konsolen-Switches nimmt dieser gemeinsam mit der Rack-Konsole 1U (1,75 Zoll) des Rackplatzes auf der Vorderseite ein. Wird der Switch in den seitlichen Schienen des Racks montiert, ist auch eine Montage in einem 0U-Profil möglich.
