Das StorageWorks D2200sb Storage Blade bietet direkt angeschlossenen Speicher für c-Class Server und unterstützt bis zu zwölf Hot-Plug SAS-Festplattenlaufwerke mit kleinem Formfaktor (SFF). Die Gehäuserückseite verfügt über eine PCI-Express-Verbindung zum benachbarten c-Class Server-Blade und sorgt so für einen leistungsfähigen Speicherzugriff ohne zusätzliche Kabel. Das D2200sb verfügt über einen integrierten Smart Array P410i Controller mit 1 GB Flash-Backed Write Cache für höhere Leistung und besseren Datenschutz. Mit der HP P4000 Virtual SAN Appliance Software (VSA) wird das D2200sb zu einem iSCSI-SAN, das von allen Servern im Gehäuse und von jedem Server im Netzwerk genutzt werden kann. VSA umfasst Remote-Replikationsfunktionen, Thin Provisioning und Snapshots. Durch die Kombination des D2200sb mit dem HP StorageWorks X1800sb Network Storage Blade ermöglichen Sie im BladeSystem Gehäuse Dateiserverdienste und gemeinsamen iSCSI-Speicher.
