Die HP StoreFabric SAN Director Switches sind die branchenweit leistungsstärkste Fibre-Channel Switching-Infrastruktur und eine zuverlässige und umfassend skalierbare Hochleistungsplattform für Speicher in privaten Clouds und für umfassend virtualisierte Umgebungen. Der SN8000B basiert auf der bewährten DC SAN Director Switch-Technologie und hat ein 14U-Gehäuse mit 8 Steckplätzen sowie ein 9U-Gehäuse mit 4 Steckplätzen. Der Director hat bis zu 384 16-Gbit FC-Ports und bis zu 32 QSFP-basierte ICLs (Inter Chassis Links), dies entspricht einer Leistung von 128 16-Gbit-FC-Ports. Außerdem stehen bis zu 8,2 Tbit/s an gesamter aggregierter Bandbreite und 512 Gbit/s an Steckplatzbandbreite bereit. Der DC SAN Director Switch wurde für herkömmliche Rechenzentren entwickelt und hat ein 14U-Gehäuse mit 8 Steckplätzen sowie ein 9U-Gehäuse mit 4 Steckplätzen. Der Director hat bis zu 512 8-Gbit-FC-Ports für 4,1 Tbit/s an gesamter aggregierter Bandbreite und 256 Gbit/s an Steckplatzbandbreite. Künftig besteht die Möglichkeit, bei unterbrechungsfreiem Austausch zentraler Blades ein DC-Gehäuse in Produktionsumgebungen zu einem SN8000B Director umzubauen.
