Die HP 1405 Small Office Switch-Serie besteht aus nicht verwalteten 5-, 8- und 16-Port-Layer 2-Switches mit Plug-and-Play für kleine Büros, sowohl in Gigabit- als auch in Fast Ethernet-Konfiguration. Diese Switches sind für die schnelle und einfache Installation vorkonfiguriert und bieten Verbindungen über kostengünstige Ethernet-Kupferkabel. Sie unterstützen verwaltungsfreundliche Funktionen wie die automatische Aushandlung und die automatische Erkennung des Kabeltyps (MDI/MDIX). Sie sind gemäß Klasse B zertifiziert und für den geschäftlichen sowie den Einsatz im Home Office geeignet. Die Version-2-Modelle mit 5 und 8 Anschlüssen haben energiesparende Features wie Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) und Funktionen für das Herunterfahren bei inaktivem Anschluss.
