Der EX2200 kann in einer einzigen Rackeinheit montiert werden. Er eignet sich daher besonders für Verteilerschränke und Zugriffspunkte mit begrenztem Platz- und Energieangebot. Die 10/100/1000BASE-T-Switches der EX2200-Produktlinie verfügen über 24 bzw. 48 Ports. Aufgrund ihrer geringen Tiefe von 25,4 cm (10 Zoll), der niedrigen Leistungsaufnahme sowie der leisen Lüfter handelt es sich um eine umweltfreundliche Lösung, die perfekt für den Einsatz in offenen Bürostrukturen geeignet ist. Darüber hinaus verfügen die EX2200-Switches über vier feste Gigabit Ethernet Uplink-Ports (GbE) an der Vorderseite. Sie ermöglichen Hochgeschwindigkeitsverbindungen bzw. Link-Aggregationen zwischen Verteilerschränken oder Upstream-Aggregations-Switches ohne Belegung der Basisports und bieten somit uneingeschränkte 24+4- bzw. 48+4-Konfigurationsoptionen.
