The EX2200 line of Ethernet switches delivers an economical standalone solution designed to meet the low-density access needs of today's businesses.\n\nTwo EX2200 Ethernet switch options are available.\n\n- The EX2200 Ethernet switch is a single rack-unit solution for crowded wiring closets and access locations where space and power are at a premium. Featuring both 24 and 48 10/100/1000BASE-T port models, the EX2200's 10-inch depth, low power consumption, and low-acoustic fans make it an environmentally friendly solution that is ideal for open office deployments. The EX2200 Ethernet switches also include four fixed front panel Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) uplink ports to support high-speed backbone or link aggregation connections between wiring closets or upstream aggregation switches without sacrificing base ports, offering true 24+4 and 48+4 configuration options.\n- The EX2200-C Ethernet switch is a highly compact, silent and power-efficient platform for low-density micro branch deployments and commercial access or enterprise workgroup environments outside the wiring closet. Featuring 12 10/100/1000BASE-T access ports in a fanless design, the EX2200-C Ethernet switches deliver a powerful solution designed specifically for office, classroom, hospitality, and other space- and wiring-constrained environments. Two front panel dual-purpose (10/100/1000BASE-T or 100/1000BASE-X) uplinks provide operational flexibility.\n\nThe EX2200 and EX2200-C Ethernet switches are available with or without standards-based 802.3af Class 3 Power over Ethernet (PoE) for supporting networked devices such as telephones, video cameras, and wireless LAN (WLAN) access points. The Ethernet switches also support the 802.3at PoE+ standard, offering twice the power for devices such as multiple radio IEEE 802.11n wireless access points or video cameras for physical security and unified communication systems.\n\nBoth the EX2200 and EX2200-C also support Junipers unique Virtual Chassis technology, enabling up to four switches to be interconnected and managed as a single logical device, dramatically simplifying management operations. The switches can be interconnected using any of the front-panel uplinks using standard GbE optics, by default, the last two ports on both the EX2200 and EX2200-C are preconfigured as Virtual Chassis interconnect ports.\n\nJust like all Juniper Networks EX Series Ethernet switches, the EX2200 and EX2200-C run the same Junos operating system that powers other Juniper switches, routers and security devices, providing a consistent set of features and capabilities across the Juniper network infrastructure.
