Der FS116P liefert Daten und Strom gleichzeitig über ein Cat5-Kabel. Er nützt dabei die PoE-Technologie (Power over Ethernet). Die 16 Fast-Ethernet-Ports können für jede 10/100 MBit/s Anbindung verwendet werden. Acht der Ports können zusätzlich Strom übertragen, basierend auf dem Standard IEEE802.3af. Erweiterte Autosensing-Algorithmen geben die Sicherheit, dass nur 802.3af-Endgeräte mit Strom versorgt werden. Wenn ein angeschlossenes PoE-Gerät abgehängt wird, wird die Stromzufuhr automatisch abgestellt. PoE vereinfacht und optimiert die Netzwerkinstallation, da angeschlossene Endgeräte nicht mehr auf eine naheliegende Stromsteckdose angewiesen sind. Dies trifft vor allem auf Access Points, Überwachungskameras und ähnliches Equipment zu, da diese nun immer am optimalen Standort platziert werden können.\n\nPlug and Play\n\nDer ProSafe Switch FS116P erkennt automatisch die Netzwerkgeschwindigkeit und den Kabeltyp. Damit lässt er sich einfach in ein existierendes 10/100-Ethernet-Netzwerk integrieren. LEDs auf der Frontseite informieren Sie über den Switch- und PoE-Status.\n\nLeise und kompakt\n\nDer lüfterlose Switch hat ein kompaktes Metallgehäuse und kann damit leicht auf dem Schreibtisch oder mit dem mitgelieferten Montagekit an der Wand angebracht werden.\n\n\nPraxisgerecht\nDurch die Integration von Switching und Power over Ethernet in einem Gerät spart der FS116P Platz, reduziert Kabel und macht die Positionierung von Geräten in der Nähe von Steckdosen überflüssig.
