Jeder Port erkennt automatisch, welche Geschwindigkeit das angeschlossene Gerät benötigt und liefert diese entsprechend. Im Gegensatz zu regulären 10-Gigabit-Switches, die nur 1-Gigabit-Konnektivität für Geräte bereitstellen, die weniger als 10-Gigabit erfordern, liefern der MS510TX und MS510TXPP genau die benötigte Geschwindigkeit, ohne Downgrade. Außerdem sind die neuen NETGEAR Multi-Gigabit-Switch-Ports geeignet für gewöhnliche CAT5e-Ethernet-Kabel, ohne dass ein Upgrade auf CAT6-Verkabelung erforderlich ist.
