Der RAID-0-Modus bietet superschnelle, sequenzielle Lesevorgänge mit bis zu 360 MB/s (max. Geschwindigkeit bei Verbindung über USB Typ-C). Wechseln Sie auf eine RAID-1-Einstellung mit Datenspiegelung, wenn Sie Ihre Daten auf den eingebauten WD Red Festplatten doppelt speichern möchten. Der USB Typ-C-Anschluss und die verschiedenen mitgelieferten Kabel machen das Gerät universell einsetzbar (unterstützt USB 3.1 Gen 1, USB 3.0, USB 2.0). An die beiden USB 3.0 Typ-A Erweiterungsbuchsen können weitere USB-Geräte angeschlossen werden.

Die My Book Duo bietet durch ihre Kompatibilität mit USB 3.1 und USB 3.0/2.0 höchstmögliche Geschwindigkeit an allen Anschlüssen. Wird mit USB Typ-C auf Typ-C und Typ-C auf Typ-A-Kabeln geliefert.
Mit ihren zwei USB 3.0 Typ-A Host-Anschlüssen dient die My Book Duo- quasi als Dockingstation und erlaubt den Anschluss von zusätzlichem Speicher, Tastatur und Maus, Kartenlesern, USB-Sticks oder zum Synchronisieren oder Aufladen von Smartphones.
