Das VMG8546 ist ein modernes IAD (Internet Access Device), das VDSL2+ Vectoring für den schnellen Internetzugang zur Verfügung stellt. Die integrierte Telefonanlage gestattet den Anschluss von analogen, ISDN- und IP-Telefonen sowie externen ISDN-Telefonanlagen. Für ein schnelles drahtloses Heimnetz stehen 2 APs mit 2,4 und 5 GHz zur Verfügung.\n\nG.vector optimiert Leitung und Investitionsausgaben\nZyxels VMG8546 unterstützt VDSL2+ Vectoring, was das Übersprechen und Interferenzen zwischen DSL-Leitungen effektiv minimiert. Damit kann durch Vectoring signifikant die Datenrate erhöht werden und DSL mit der Kabel-/Glasfasertechnologie konkurrieren, ohne die aktuelle Infrastruktur zu ändern. Aus der CAPEX-Perspektive können so Datenraten und Abdeckung optimiert werden, ohne neue Kosten durch einen Wechsel der Netzwerkinfrastruktur (z.B. Fiber to the Home) zu erzeugen.\n\nWLAN 11 a/b/g/n für hohe Datenraten und Netzabdeckung\nDer VMG8546 bietet zur breitbandigen Heimvernetzung neben 2 GigabitETH- und 2 FastETH-Ports auch zwei hochperformante WLAN-Basisstationen, die eine Anbindung von Endgeräten mit Bandbreiten bis zu 300 Mbit/s (brutto) dank 2.4 und 5 GHz-Funkspektrum und MIMO-Technologie (2 externe Antennen) erlauben. Separate WLAN- und WPS-Taster ermöglichen ein leichtes Ein-und Ausschalten des WLAN, sowie ein schnelles Anmelden neuer WLAN-Clients.\n\nSprachintegration in das All-IP-Netz\nNeben 2 analogen und einer ISDN-S0-Schnittstelle zum Anschluss von analogen und ISDN-Endgeräten bzw. einer ISDN-Telefonanlage, können auch SIP-fähige Endgeräte an das VMG8546 angeschlossen werden. Die integrierte Telefonanlage gestattet umfangreiche Konfigurationsmöglichkeiten und eine Anpassung auf die individuellen Bedarfe.\n\nQuality of Service (QoS)\nZyxels VMG8546 unterstützt sowohl ATM- und IP-QoS-Funktionen. Damit können Service-Provider ihre QoS-Richtlinien, basierend auf ihren Service-Plänen umsetzen, um spezielle Dienste wie VoIP oder IPTV entsprechend zu priorisieren.
