Cisco Business CBS 250

With the Cisco Business Series 250, the manufacturer offers a series of switches for setting up small business networks. The devices belong to the class of managed smart switches. They are available as variants with 8, 16, 24 or 48 ports. They are designed for integration into network cabinets, whereas the small Cisco CBS 250 are compact half-rack switches and are also suitable for desktop installation.

The Cisco Business Series 250 offer Gigabit Ethernet as well as an additional two or four ports for SFP/SFP+ modules. Modules with Gigabit and 10 Gbit Ethernet are available for this. These modules can be used to set up internal uplinks between switches. Here, the realisable range is up to 40 kilometres. Single and multi-mode fibre optic cables as well as coaxial copper and Cat5E cables can be used.

A number of the Cisco CBS 250 models support PoE+ on all ports. A maximum of 30 watts is available per port if not all ports are used for PoE devices. The total power quota is between 45 and 370 watts per switch, which corresponds to 8 watts per port.
