Cisco Wireless Access Point Series
There are a number of different Cisco Wireless Access Point series, each designed for different tasks. The Cisco Catalyst Access Point series includes the all-rounders that are suitable for the selective provision of WLAN and also for setting up networks in the home office. The Cisco Business Access Points support a high number of simultaneous connections. This makes these access points suitable for company networks in which there are many mobile connections at the same time and high demands on the available bandwidth. This applies in particular to the Cisco Business Access Points that are Wi-Fi 6/6E Ready. Here, the use of the 2.4 and 5 as well as the 6 GHz band is possible simultaneously, which doubles the number of connections as well as the bandwidth.
Cisco also offers access points for use under industrial conditions. These devices are manufactured to be particularly robust. Among other things, they are waterproof and dustproof according to IP67 or similar standards. Furthermore, these Cisco wireless access points can be used under extreme temperatures and are insensitive to vibrations or shocks. Cisco has access points in its range that are suitable for permanent outdoor installation. These include the Cisco Catalyst 9124 models or the Cisco Aironet 15x0 series. These access points also support PoE, so that the power for operation can be obtained directly via the cable connection of the network.
The Cisco Wireless Access Points include the manufacturer's DNA software. This provides information about users, devices and accesses in the WLAN. In this way, company networks can be better managed and made more secure.
