HPE FlexFabric 5940 series switches are suitable for users with special demands on their networks. Connections with 10GbE or 40GbE and 100G uplink technology enable very fast data transmission. The switches are suitable for use in companies that have implemented extensive virtualisation. Use for data traffic between two servers is also possible. The devices are intended for use in large data centres at the access layer of the server or in medium-sized operations at the core layer. An HPE FlexFabric 5940 switch is best suited for high-density networks. This is a top-of-the rack switch (ToR). It is characterised not only by very fast data transmission, but also by very low latency. The HPE FlexFabric 5940 series devices use HPE FlexFabric Network Analytics. This enables simple monitoring and rapid fault detection.

The Distributed Resilient Network Interconnect (DRNI) technology allows up to 10 devices to be combined and joined together to form a virtual unit. This results in excellent fail-safety. It also allows you to add more HPE FlexFabric 5940 switches as needed, making your network scalable.
