The Cisco ISR 4200 is a family of integrated services routers. This series offers different functions and features for the realisation of combined network services across public communication links. Integrated Services Routers are used in branch offices and similar outposts of companies to establish a secure connection to their own network.
One of the more compact solutions in the series is the Cisco ISR 4221, which has a height of one height unit (U) and is suitable for integration in a network cabinet as well as for placement at another point in the office, such as the wall. The Cisco 4221 Integrated Services Router is therefore suitable for both medium-sized and small networks.
The Cisco ISR 4221 has two WAN or LAN ports for speeds of 10/100/1000 Mbps. There is also an SFP port. Combined, the Cisco 4221 Integrated Services Router enables a total throughput of 35 Mbps. With additional licences for the Cisco ISR 4200, the data throughput can be increased or security functions can be added.
