Cisco ASR 9000

The Cisco Aggregation Services Routers 9000 are primarily intended for the construction of networks in the environment of service providers who offer customers special digital services. The Cisco ASR 9000 are designed for applications with high bandwidth, such as streaming video content. It is also possible to set up Metro Ethernet networks with the Cisco Aggregation Services Routers 9000. Cisco IOS XR is used as the operating system.

The Cisco Aggregation Services Routers 9000 have a modular structure and are available in numerous sizes. The construction height of these base modules is between two and 44 height units. These base modules accommodate line cards, modules with route switch processors (RSPs) and fabric cards. There is space for up to 20 line cards, 7 fabric cards and two RSPs. Network connections with bandwidths between 1 Gbps and 400 Gbps can be selected. The Cisco ASR 9000 thus provides bandwidth capacities of up to 160 Tbps.
