Cisco Catalyst 4500-X

The Cisco Catalyst 4500-X are switches with 16 or 32 ports. They are designed for setting up internal networks in companies and organisations. The switches are designed in 19-inch format and are therefore suitable for direct integration in network cabinets and racks. The Cisco 4500X support 10 Gigabit Ethernet and are available with RJ-45, SFP and SFP+ ports. In addition, there is a slot in which an optional uplink module can be placed. Eight ten Gigabit uplink ports can be created via this module. The switching capacity is a maximum of 800 Gbit/s.

The Cisco Catalyst 4500-X supports Cisco Easy Virtual Networks and can thus create up to 4094 VLANs. Furthermore, the Cisco 4500X have a redundant system for the fans. These, as well as the power supply unit and the uplink module, enable hot swapping. This means that the power supply unit, fan and uplink module can be replaced on site during operation.
