Cisco Wireless Controller 8540
The Cisco Wireless Controller 8540 is suitable for managing larger networks in companies and organisations. With this wireless controller, up to 6,000 access points and 64,000 clients can be configured centrally. In addition, the Cisco WLC 8540 can create up to 2,000 Cisco FlexConnect groups. Within these FlexConnect groups, up to 100 access points each can be controlled.
The Cisco WLC 8540 supports multi-1 Gigabit or 10 Gigabit Ethernet connections. Four 10 Gigabit Ethernet or 1 Gigabit Ethernet ports and one SFP and SFP+ port each are provided for this purpose.
The Cisco Wireless Controller 8540 can be used in combination with access points from the Cisco Aironet and Cisco Catalyst series. In addition, the Cisco WLC 8540 is compatible with the Cisco Prime infrastructure and the Cisco Mobility Services Engine and can operate in conjunction with other Cisco wireless controllers.
