Cisco Wireless Controller 8510

The Cisco Wireless Controller 8510 is designed for the central control of critical network services in larger networks of companies or service providers. The Cisco WLC 8510 has double redundancy for the power supply and also for the two 10 Gigabit Ethernet connections. In addition, an SFP port is available for the flexible setup of an uplink. With its 1U form factor, the Cisco WLC 8510 fits directly into network cabinets and can thus be integrated into the infrastructure.

With the Cisco Wireless Controller 8510, up to 6,000 access points and up to 64,000 clients can be centrally controlled and configured. The Cisco WLC 8510 also supports up to 4,096 VLANs and thus allows the creation of individual WLAN environments. The Cisco Wireless Controller 8510 is compatible with access points from the Cisco Aironet series as well as with the systems of the Cisco Prime Infrastructure and the Cisco Mobility Services Engine. According to Cisco, end-of-support is 30 September 2023. We continue to offer our IT-Planet SmartCare service for this product series.
